WORK HISTORY
Head of ERP Advisory Services @Capgemini
London, GB
Our customers are trying to make sense of the variety of messages and market trends in our industry. Consequently, they are asking themselves these questions:• How do we transform business processes supported by package solutions to be more effective in the new digital age?• How do we make sense of the Intelligent Enterprise? What value is that to us and our organisation?• Packages are complex, and implementation can be costly. How can we implement them sensibly and pragmatically? What is the roadmap and what is the business case for conversion to the new latest ERP Cloud Offering or to SAP S/4?• What do you recommend for our roadmap, Capgemini? After all you’ve been here a long time and done a lot of business with us, and so you should have some relevant opinions. So, what can you tell us?• How do we get colleagues on board?• Ok, so now we know that we have to do this, when and how should we start?I lead an experienced team to help clients resolve these questions, using a number of tools and techniques to provide quality answers to these questions. We offer:• A full end-to-end business assessment based on consultative workshop techniques such as a Business Maturity Models in which we engage with business stakeholders to identify existing pain-points and their appetite for transformation. We thoroughly research the topics prior to the workshops (e.g. through our Business Services process library, interviews or IT ticket analysis)• Demonstrator+ to show the technical “art of the possible” within the client\'s business environment• Design Thinking and Ideation to develop creative solutions with clients• The full range of Capgemini\'s services such as business change, benefits cases, process models, latest technical thinking
SKILLS
ABOUT DUNCAN PRIOR
A transformation leader with more than 20 years of experience in ERP strategy, SAP advisory and helping organisations make sense of complex technology and market change. For nearly two decades, I have worked at Capgemini, most recently as Head of ERP Advisory Services, where I guide clients through the questions, uncertainties and strategic decisions that come with SAP, S/4HANA and ERP Cloud transformation.Throughout my time at Capgemini, I led teams that helped clients move from confusion to clarity-using end‑to‑end business assessments, pragmatic roadmaps, design‑thinking methods and demonstrator‑led ideation to show what’s truly possible within their business environments. I also played a key role in developing our 5‑step advisory approach and supporting the recovery and growth of Capgemini’s UK SAP practice. My background spans consulting, technology leadership and delivery roles, giving me a balance of hands‑on delivery experience and strategic oversight. I’ve worked on both sides of the fence- from technical solution delivery to being a strategic IT director-which helps me bridge business needs with technology realities. After almost 19 years of focusing on SAP and enterprise transformation, I decided it was time to broaden my horizons. I took a sabbatical to pursue a Masters in World History and Cultures at King’s College London, driven by a long‑standing interest in global themes such as empire, conflict and societal change. It has been an incredibly enriching experience that sharpened my analytical and critical‑thinking skills in entirely new ways. Across everything I do, I’m at my best when helping people make sense of complexity-whether that’s untangling transformation challenges, motivating high‑performing teams, or guiding organisations through the “why, when and how” of meaningful change.
