ABOUT DONNA SIMONE JOHNSON

is a LA-based actress, choreographer and producer. She can be seen in commercial campaigns for Walmart, Nike and Roots Naturelle, doing an assortment of commercial-ly things or as a recurring guest star on BounceTV\'s THE BRKDWN. Previous credits include a host of regional theatre roles, including the national tours of High School Musical and The Lion King at the Pantages, as well as work at Union Square, Portland Center Stage, A.C.T, African American Shakespeare Company, The Royal George, and more. Notable LA productions includes Broken Fences at The Road Theatre Co, The Cherry Orchard at Theatricum Botanicum, Samsara at REDCAT, and Echoes of A Thousand Hills at the Center for New Performance alongside Mashirika Performing Arts Company in Kigali, Rwanda amongst others. Choreography credits include Salt at Highways Performance Space with Vivian Nixon, REDCAT Studios, Balm in Gilead at USC, directed by Heidi Helen Davis in addition to creating pieces at NYU, Idyllwild Arts Academy, UCLA, Arts and Communication Magnet, Cal State LA and the Harlem Academy with Ronald K. Brown. She currently serves on the Ovation Rules Committee, on the Artistic Board of The Road Theatre Company, is an Associate Artist with Antaeus, and is on the governing board of HARDcorps NYU, an organization that provides formal dance training to underserved youth around the country. In 2013, she was honored with the Guthrie Visiting Artist Fellowship and was the recipient of the NAACP Production Grant for Best Solo Performance for her one-woman adaptation remount of Twilight, Los Angeles: 1992.
