A chartered mechanical engineer with over 26 years of experience within the nuclear industry having extensive experience on a variety of projects including those in design, commissioning, decommissioning, engineering substantiation, design and safety assessments (i.e. Continued Operation Safety Review (COSR) and Long Term Periodic Review (LTPR) Assessment)(SFC 1, 2 and 3) and in implementing safety case recommendations regarding plant and equipment upgrading work for various clients including Sellafield Limited (SL), British Energy Generation Limited (BE now EDF), United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA), Magnox, NNL and International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER). Is an experienced engineer, he has lead multi-discipline teams ensuring project delivery both technically and to programme and budget. A conscientious, reliable person, who is a good communicator, well organised and confident, fits in well in any situation. Has wide site experience in particular where he has worked closely with contractors and client to standard site procedures and QA procedures. Was the Mechanical Discipline Resource and Capability Lead for the Mechanical Engineering team at Birchwood and Westlakes offices in AMEC Foster Wheelers CE/NS/D&R Business (80 engineers) from January 2012 to Dec 2015. Responsible for the development and implementation of the Mechanical Engineering team strategy for the provision of people, tools and processes, including identification of required skills against customer requirements, and management of training, development and recruitment to meet demand. Also, provided technical governance to all projects in the mechanical team. In addition, IMechE Graduate mentor and helped to set up and run the Apprentice scheme at AMEC Foster Wheeler Clean energy.Currently working on BEP EPC project as Area 200 Principal Engineer.
