Derek L. Hamilton, Sr. has over 30 years of experience working on a wide variety of projects, providing leadership in technical coordination and project management across healthcare, academic, hospitality, science & technology, civic, justice, and retail sectors. Derek has dedicated much of his career to healthcare architecture, including new hospitals, seismic retrofits, hospital renovations, ambulatory surgery centers, and medical office buildings. He has contributed to large, technically complex academic, science, and technology projects, as well as the historic renovation of UCLA’s landmark Royce Hall. Derek has also led the design and management of more than 25 hotel projects for brands like Hilton, Marriott, Sheraton, Comfort Suites, and Extended Stay America in California, Arizona, and Nevada. He understands the complexity and coordination needed to develop a project from programming through construction. Derek earned a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Hampton University.
