ABOUT DEREK NORFIELD
The philosophy is Reliability Centered Operation. Maintenance enables plant operations. By using Reliability Management techniques that include Predictive measurements such as Vibration, Ultrasound and IR, Preventative Maintenance, Balancing and Energy Management we improve overall plant production. My areas of expertise include consulting, troubleshooting and management with \"hands on\" experience. While Electric Motors have been one of my long term focus areas, I also have experience in turbine, turbocharger, automotive, wood products and process industry manufacturing and maintenance. With ABB, and now Quant Service, the business of maintenance management as a specialized part of reliability enhancement has led me into new approaches to link the various arts of spares maintenance, motor repair, motor diagnostics and the requirement to keep production running into a unified approach for improving OEE. More recently the addition of responsibility for the operations management of our preventative maintenance program PM30 has brought a new awareness of preemptive actions we can take to prolong the productive life of plant equipment.Alligator wrestling is not a useful activity when the goal is to drain the swamp.
