At 25 years old, when my mother passed away unexpectedly, I experienced the most important and human side of the insurance business: the way real people, in real life situations FEEL the value insurance and financial products deliver on their promises.I realized how distilling the technical complexity of the back shop — combining the power of distribution relationships and advice — work together to BE THERE to help people when they need it most. What a privilege it is to work in an industry that has such impact and the power to do good. This desire to “do good” by people has guided my life and career and it continues to inform the leadership decisions I make as president of Individual Life and Financial Services (ILFS) at OneAmerica Financial. Every day, I get to combine my knack for numbers with my desire to help others, as we provide insurance, long-term care, and retirement-focused products. Time is truly the greatest test in insurance, so I focus on building long-term relationships built on principles that endure and delivering products that are built to stand the test of time. Ultimately, building relationships is as simple as “committing and following through.” When you do this, and deliver on expectations, you will have great relationships that are foundational to personal, professional and business success. My wife Sharon and I have lived in Greater Indianapolis since 2009. We moved here because it’s a great place to raise a family. As a native Canadian, hockey has always been a big part of my life, playing through college. Here in Greater Indianapolis, I’ve found a club team to play with in the winter months, and my wife Sharon and I helped start a dedicated ice curling facility. We’re also passionate about supporting local organizations that serve children affected by poverty and housing insecurity. This is my personal page.    As president of Individual Life and Financial Services (ILFS) at OneAmerica Financial I oversee all aspects of the life insurance, annuity, and long-term care businesses. At OneAmerica we focus on building our business through strong distribution relationships and advice delivered through skilled advisors. We want to work with advisors who take the time to care about their clients as much as we do.When I arrived at OneAmerica in 2009, I’d been in the business almost 20 years. I chose this company because its values aligned with my own; a long-term perspective, the importance of distribution, and keeping the needs of the client, the people we serve, in focus. Clients expect and deserve to buy financial products from a company that they can trust will deliver on its promises. OneAmerica Financial remains committed to building and preserving financial strength and delivering products that stand the test of time. In our fast-changing world, technology continues to change the way we connect with clients and the way we deliver financial services. But technology hasn’t changed what we do or why we do it. We still have the privilege of building connections, making promises, and delivering on those promises every day.
