ABOUT PAUL DEAN

Environmental, health, and safety (EHS) leadership plays a pivotal role in organizations, impacting both the well-being of employees and the overall success of the business. As a strategic and well-rounded senior manufacturing and safety leader, I have garnered widespread recognition for transforming challenged facilities into profitability drivers through continuous improvement programs, team training and empowerment, and effective change management. I build cultures of loyalty, safety, and productivity that consistently exceed expectations. As a result of blending technical, interpersonal, and business acumen with inherent personal integrity, I serve as a trusted advisor to teams, peers, and leaders. In addition, I balance a high-level strategic vision with tactical execution skills, identifying and seizing opportunities for improvement, change, and growth. Below is a selection of the top accomplishments from my career with Hexion Inc: Led an observational learning team evaluating shop floor operations across all sites to identify and mitigate systemic issues by implementing enterprise-wide manufacturing excellence best practices. Orchestrating the merger and restructuring of 2 separate divisions into a new operating model following Hexion South Region’s 2019 Chapter 11 filing; I shared legacy knowledge about matrixed operations with new site leaders and redefined and standardized all roles and objectives to fully integrate teams under new performance measures. Transforming operations of Hexion’s Fayetteville, North Carolina site within 18 months, in part through the implementation of an independent manufacturing excellence pilot, creating a model facility still used 6 years later to illustrate best practices to clients, vendors, and peer plants.
