ABOUT DAVID GILLARD

I am a finance professional with wide-ranging Board-level experience in a variety of capacities, over organisations of differing forms and sizes, operating across a number of sectors and geographies. I am presently a Non-Executive Director (‘NED’) and Chair of Audit Committee and, more recently Senior Independent Director (SID) at a £5bn AIM-listed motor retailer, and NED, Chair of Audit Committee and Board ESG Lead at a £0.2bn family-owned builders merchant. I also continue to advise the £0.3m international law firm where I was formerly Group Finance Director and Deputy to the Managing Partner during a period of significant business turnaround. Beyond my engagement in Law (DAC Beachcroft), I gleaned, during my executive career, experience in Publishing (Oxford University Press), FMCG/Alcoholic Beverages (Diageo, Guinness, Hӓagen-Dazs, McVitie’s), Infrastructure (BAA) and elsewhere, both in the UK and overseas, often being recruited to work with or for the same people in different companies and contexts. Roles as a Trustee of an Oxford University College and as the representative of \'the centre\' on subsidiary entity Boards helped prepare me for Non-Executive work.I am lucky and grateful to have received excellent advice, coaching and support throughout my career. Now, I would like to find further interesting opportunities in which I can pay this forward. Key Words/Specialisms: Non-Executive Director, Advisor, Mentor, Professional Services
