ABOUT DAVID FARLER
I am a Site Director with full accountability for safe, reliable, and efficient site operations, with a leadership approach grounded in people, culture, and disciplined execution.Over the past 20-plus years, I have built my career in heavy industry by working from the ground up, starting as a union pipefitter and refinery swing-shift operator, and progressing through engineering, maintenance, projects, turnarounds, and operations leadership. That journey has shaped how I lead today: with credibility in the field, respect for the workforce, and a deep understanding that results are achieved through people, not position. My experience spans refinery and chemical manufacturing environments, where I have led large, complex organizations through major turnarounds, capital projects, reliability improvement, and cultural transformation. I have managed portfolios exceeding $500M, led organizations of over personnel during peak execution, and served in senior leadership roles across operations, maintenance, projects, and turnaround execution.More than titles or scope, my passion is leadership. I believe effective communication and accountability are inseparable, and that leaders must earn trust through consistency, presence, and integrity. I often say that people may report to a leader, but they work with them, and leadership is a responsibility that must be earned every day. Situational leadership is essential for success in today’s industries. My leadership philosophy is anchored in what I call GRIT: • Grounded – Leading with humility, values, and purpose • Resilient – Remaining steady when conditions are not • Intentional – Creating clarity, structure, and alignment • Tenacious – Pursuing excellence with discipline and heartI hold a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, an MBA, and a Ph.D. in Business (Global Leadership & Change). I also serve as an adjunct professor, teaching MBA courses, and remain actively involved in leadership development and mentoring. I also serve on the Tiffin University School of Business Advisor Board. Above all, I am committed to building strong teams, developing future leaders, and creating workplaces where people are proud of what they do and how they do it.
