ABOUT DANIELA LEME ARCA

I am a dedicated tax attorney with over 15 years of experience in tax planning and litigation involving complex tax matters, including corporate income tax, international taxation, indirect taxes (VAT), and transfer pricing. After earning my bachelor\'s degree in Law from the prestigious University of São Paulo (USP) in 2008, I began my career at one of the largest and most renowned law firms in Brazil (Machado Meyer Advogados) where I had the privilege of learning from and collaborating with some of the country’s most talented tax lawyers. I progressed to the role of senior associate (Partner B) during my time there. My expertise lies in tax planning, cross-border advisory, and resolving judicial and administrative disputes involving direct and indirect taxes, corporate income tax, international taxation, and transfer pricing. I have also worked extensively with tax compliance, particularly in Brazil—one of the most complex and technology-driven tax systems in the world. I am familiar with tax audits, tax returns, financial reporting, accounting, and tax software. In addition, I have led legal teams, mentored junior lawyers, and built strong relationships with clients and government authorities, including court judges. Over the years, I have developed strong problem-solving, strategic thinking, risk management, and leadership skills. I have successfully guided clients through their tax challenges. In recognition of my work, I was honored as one of the most admired female tax attorneys in Brazil by Análise Advocacia Mulheres in 2022 and 2024, and featured in the Best Lawyers rankings in 2024 and 2025. I also hold a master’s degree in Controller and Finance from Mackenzie University, which enhanced my ability to analyze tax implications in corporate finance and business strategy. Additionally, I have completed several tax law and accounting courses throughout my career. My passion for international tax law led me to work on high-profile cases involving double taxation treaties, where I developed a nuanced understanding of OECD standards. To further broaden my expertise and global perspective, I am currently pursuing a master’s degree in International and European Tax Law at Maastricht University. This program offers a unique opportunity to deepen my knowledge in European VAT, European Corporate Tax and EU Directives, BEPS, Pillar II, transfer pricing, and EU Public CbCR regulation, collaborate with professionals from diverse backgrounds, and prepare for the next stage of my career. I am currently based in the Netherlands with full work authorization.
