ABOUT DANIEL KIM

I am an extremely passionate individual who is always excited to learn and lead. I thrive in social settings and enjoy being a driven leader. I lead anywhere I go and never shy away from opportunities. I cherish every opportunity and believe that there is always something to learn from each and every opportunity. I am detail-oriented and never afraid to take initiative. My greatest asset is the positivity and the optimism that attract people. Coming from a diverse background, I am particularly passionate about increasing cultural and ethnic awareness and promoting social/restorative justice and diversity. This passion has been one of my core identities and a force that has shaped the person I am today and will continue to do so. In addition, my primary interests are medicine and biology. I am a pre-med student majoring in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology (MCDB) and aspire to go into surgery. As of now, cancer research is my primary field, and I hope to pursue translational cancer therapeutics research in my medical career. Helping and advocating for others has been a source of my gratification, and I hope to become a doctor who inspires and gives hope to patients, and most importantly, who leads in the field. I am looking forward to the rest of my undergraduate years at the University of Michigan.
