Serve as liaison between 27 Boston Public Schools and community-based early education programs, in-home daycares, and Head Start centers. Work collaboratively with classroom teachers and outside agencies to determine appropriate resources. Assist in transitioning students and families into early childhood programs across the city of Boston, and transition aging out students from Early Intervention programs into public school system.Key Highlights: Ensure children are provided with learning environments that provide appropriate social, intellectual, physical, and emotional development. Complete educational assessments with children ages 3 – 5 with suspected special needs and develop Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for substantially separate or inclusion classrooms. Make sure the rights of individual students are protected and Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) guidelines are met. Co-Facilitate monthly citywide early childhood screenings, collect evaluation data for grant review, tabulate assessment data, and write reports. Collect and record screening, referral, and intake information.
