Lapp is a global market leader for integrated connection systems. Operating in many different locations around the world, LAPP is a manufacturer of flexible cables and wires as well as cable accessories. Working for LAPP, the role as a Production Planning and Execution lead consultant was full responsibility to template setup and implement an SAP S4HANA 2020 production data model and processes in Finland and Poland. Length based master data with active enhancements for cable production were integrated to Advanced Planning & Detail Scheduling and MES systems. Production Planning was performed in PPDS and results moved into ECC and MES for execution. Majority of production was Make-to-Order with Make-to-stock cases depending on business area. Web FIORI APPS were utilized where found a beneficial to the process.My role was to review template in production area and match Lapp businesses in three plants. It was followed by design and functional specification of missing system features. Manufacturing system design included mapping of production processes and necessary production data structures like Routings, BOMs and Production Version’s in order to allow optimized planning and execution process. After gap analysis project was put on hold and I was working on new developments that were necessary to fulfil missing functionalities in the template.
