ABOUT CURTIS CRONIN
Hired as a presales vArchitect by VCE nine years ago to design virtual environments based on Converged and Hyper-Converged Infrastructure. Responsible for gathering sizing data and customer requirements, I would then design a solution incorporating compute, storage, network and virtualization software. Converged Infrastructure solutions utilized EMC/VCE VxBlock which combined Cisco UCS servers, Cisco Network and EMC SAN storage. Hyper Converged solutions utilized EMC’s VxRail appliance. Each appliance contained server, network, VSAN storage. Both Converged Infrastructure and Hyperconverged Infrastructure included VMware Cloud Foundation and optionally VMware vRealize Suite.
