Oversight of all organizational inpatient Public Benefit operations within Boone Hospital Center (MO), including our ICU, PCU, Oncology, Neurology, Orthopedics, Cardiology, Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, Medical and Surgical Specialties, and Inpatient Rehabilitation, serving as the primary liaison for medically underserved patient populations while ensuring financial navigation for every stage of care- Provided patient-centered consultation and education on complex state and financial assistance processes, empowering individuals and families to make informed decisions regarding their journey of care. These consultations have resulted in almost $4M in Missouri Medicaid approvals to date- Collaborated extensively with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, nursing staff, social workers, case managers, patient access, and more to ensure seamless patient transitions across the continuum of care. These collaborative pursuits actively contributed to care planning and coordination efforts that reduced barriers, supported patients and families during complex discharge processes, and promoted continuity of care, resulting in an improved patient experience and better clinical outcomes- Executed continuous compliance of evolving Missouri state statute and federal healthcare legislation, with a specific focus on compliance with Missouri Revised Statutes governing Medicaid eligibility and hospital financial assistance policies- Maintained meticulous records of all communications, document collection, and application milestones in the hospital’s patient accounting systems- Contributed to the continuous improvement of Revenue Cycle Management workflows, primarily by identifying process enhancements and advocating for patient-first solutions- Supported additional financial advocacy initiatives and institutional goals, all the while maintaining a commitment to equitable access to healthcare for all patients and populations across the State of Missouri.
