Colin has worked in the natural resources industry for the past 16 years in a variety of roles and functions gaining extensive commercial, valuation, transaction, financial, system and governance skills. He has wide international experience working across Australia, Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas. He is currently President of the Houston Chapter of the Society of Decision Professionals. Colin has also taught at the University of Melbourne and contributed towards developing finance literature. Colin holds a Master\'s in Mineral and Energy Economics and a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from The University of Melbourne. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant.

Partner with business leaders to provide financial analysis & modeling, commercial insights, decision evaluation and strategic thinking on projects and corporate development initiatives. Key member of highly successful financial analysis team for petroleum division’s $40B exit from BHP group and merger with Woodside Energy. Highlights included directing the building and running of the financial model, working with investment banks and treasury to develop credit rating and liquidity analysis, developing external market price forecasts, and assisting with market comparable analysis and financial statement preparation. Seconded to BHP head office to help run the group’s annual capital allocation planning. Prepared consolidated cash flow forecasts and analysis to direct project funding and stress test portfolio. Developed models and introduced new data visualization tool to improve process going forwards. Manage projects and teams to quickly and creatively identify issues and critical decisions, develop path forward, and deliver results and recommendations. Mentor team members. Piloted initial scoping for successful $500M acquisition of additional working interest in Shenzi oil field. Subsequently developed and ran modeling for the transaction. Develop written, oral and online material to quickly and succinctly communicate to all levels. Well versed in McKinsey Pyramid Principles. Examples include presenting financial analysis to c-suite, providing key insights from investor reports to head of investor relations, and delivering financial training to business. Conduct competitor, industry, and economic supply and demand analysis to develop BHP’s petroleum strategy paper and price forecasts.
