ABOUT CHRISTOPHER W. KLINE

I build and lead mission-driven institutions that bridge public trust, civic infrastructure, and community impact. As the President & Chief Executive Officer of Desert Botanical Garden, I’m guiding a century-old cultural and environmental institution into its second century, strengthening its role in desert stewardship, public engagement, and community gatherings.I previously served as founding President & CEO for the Arizona Media Association and the Arizona Local News Foundation, where I led a coalition of 400+ local media brands to record philanthropic investment and statewide public service initiatives that continue to serve millions. My career spans leadership in nonprofit, media, civic and education sectors, and includes Emmy-winning work, strategic board service, and building cross-sector partnerships that move institutions forward. I’m passionate about strengthening institutions that connect people, advance solutions, and build resilience at scale. I live by three simple guideposts: keep my eyes forward, build bridges, and operate with (polite) candor.
