ABOUT CHRISTIE GARBE
To fulfill a goal of owning my own business, in 2018 I started a wellness center that provides holistic health care services for stress and chronic pain relief. I am passionate about creating a positive culture, delivering quality customer service, and overseeing the financial, operational, and human resources aspects of the business. Prior to starting my own business, I led strategic planning, community engagement, advocacy, data analysis, during a 12-year tenure as a Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer at Central Health. There, I led the creation and implementation of the 20••••19 strategic plan, established the Central Health Equity Policy Council, and advocated for public health policies and initiatives. Additionally, I am a certified yoga instructor and mediator, a McBee Fellow, a Leadership Austin Graduate, and a Center for Public Policy Fellow, and I have published multiple reports on demographic trends and health care access in Travis County.
