ABOUT CHRIS SCALA
If I wasn\'t stuck behind a computer right now, I\'d be on a mountain with a sandwich in my backpack looking for a place to have a scenic picnic. But hey — everything costs something.It\'s not that I don\'t like to write, it\'s just this whole \"hope an AI likes your profile\" thing is pretty dehumanizing. Hopefully you\'re human. I can work with that.I grew up just outside of New York City in New Jersey, the motherland of bagels and delis. The framework for my interests got defined very early: I was either designing on our Mac, or on my bike. My parents were either overly aware of my presence in the house, or had little idea where I was outside for hours on end.Thankfully, this proved valuable later on. I can not only sit down and create a travel plan, study maps, and book an itinerary. but I can then thrive on a multi-week adventure on a mountain or foreign country. This whole \"plan and execute\" and \"indoor and outdoor\" dichotomy is my best guess as to a common thread throughout my career. It has given me the discipline to focus on the details, and then turn around and do the things. I\'ll be the first to admit the details have changed many times over the years. I have run a movie theater, a retail store, designed books, websites, and software. I\'ve chased photographs from inside a mosh pit. I\'ve spent months living out of a backpack. I\'ve hunted maps inside 200 year old atlases. I throw myself way into whatever it is I\'ve set out to do, and always have. To that end, a childhood dream of mine was to move to Vermont to be closer to the skiing I grew up doing with my dad. I now live here full-time, ski and bike whenever I can, and whew, it required a whole plan to get here. I\'m starting to get proud of this ability. All this to say — if you\'ve got something going on — let\'s make it happen!
