ABOUT CHETAN SODAYE

I am Chetan Sodaye, an Architect, Urban Designer, Researcher, and Cycling & Climate Action Enthusiast. I am driven by my passion for upgrading urban life and continuously strive to learn about every facet of urban mobility. My ultimate goal is to make a positive impact on urban life wherever I stay or work.With over 9 years of experience in the field, I currently work at the Assam Climate Centre for Cities at Govt. of Assam. I have developed expertise in a wide range of areas including research and analysis, climate action, UHI, complete street design, cycle-friendly design, policy development, active mobility, cycle design guidelines, last-mile connectivity, urban design guidelines, safe systems approach, data collection and analysis, blue-green infrastructure, and transit-oriented development.I have previously worked at WRI India as Program Manager and also with Prasanna Desai Architects [PDA], Pune as a Junior Architect - Project Architect - Project Lead where I worked on diverse Planning and Urban design projects. These projects focused on urban development and involved tasks such as business development, research, design, drawing preparation, tendering, site supervision, and execution.I have been involved in several notable projects such as Namma Raste, Suraksha75, Pune Cycle Plan where I was one of the Leads and Pune Smart City - Street Redevelopment Project where I was a Team Lead. I have also been a Core Team Member at Practical Cities where I was involved in Research + Networking + Social Media Communications + Moderating. I Convened around 8 Masterclass Sessions with eminent Professionals from the field of Urban Development, Urban Governance, Urban Design and Urban Transportation.In my free time, I enjoy cycling and exploring new cities. I am also interested in photography – UrbzScape – Instagram, social activism – Why should cars have all the fun – Instagram. Researching, writing, sketching, attending meets and conferences are some of my other interests.
