ABOUT CHARLIE WINCKLESS
Charlie Winckless is a Vice President Analyst working for Gartner\'s Cloud Security team. Living at the intersection of business and technology, his focus is the evolution of cloud and network security, with a particular focus on the security service edge, CNAPP, CSPM, and CWPP markets as well as zero trust. He is a cybersecurity veteran with over 20 years’ experience in the field and cut his IT teeth at IBM before going on to study computer science at Manchester University in the UK. He installed his first firewall in 1997 and immediately discovered his passion for cybersecurity – a field where he could finally put his healthy paranoia to use for others. Over his career, Charlie has worked as a consultant and engineer across the security spectrum, helping his clients understand and address unique business risks. When not exercising that healthy paranoia at work, he can usually be found on two-wheels as an avid bicyclist and motorcycle roadracer.
