ABOUT CHARLES ZHU
An automotive visionary and industry veteran, Dr. Charles Zhu joined Delta Electronics (Americas) over a decade ago and built the company’s automotive line of business from the ground up. After establishing the core automotive R&D engineering team and lab in Detroit, Dr. Zhu obtained funding from OEMs and spearheaded the advanced product development of automotive grade on-board chargers, DC/DC converters, and later hair-pin motors and traction inverters for EV market. Under his leadership, Delta has won a significant number of projects for key EV programs at all North American OEMs and is now a tier-one supplier for the automotive industry. The company has been honored with accolades from the likes of General Motors (Supplier of the Year- 2015) and FCA (Supplier of the Year- 2019). Dr. Zhu also won four U.S. Department of Energy programs and serves as the principal investigator on developing smart grid EVSE, medium-voltage solid-state transformer DC fast-charging, and wide-band gap bi-directional on-board charger technologies.
