Assists with planning and coordination of monthly meetings and events for members, etc. This includes Caltech SWE\'s annual \"Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day\" event, which brings 50-100 middle school girls from local schools to campus for a day of science demos, lab tours and workshops!

ABOUT CHARIS HALL
I am a rising junior at Caltech, pursuing a degree in Astrophysics/Astronomy. I have a strong passion for astrophysics research, particularly observational astronomy, as well as a passion for science communication and public outreach! I am currently performing research under graduate mentor Evan H. Nũnez, and Professor Chuck Steidel of Caltech\'s PMA department. Our work is focused on studying the CGM(circumgalactic medium) of distant QSOs using data-cubes provided by the KCWI instrument (onboard Keck Telescope). Previously, I participated in the NASA SEES summer internship, studying early galaxy evolution with data from SDSS (the Sloan Digital Sky Survey), in collaboration with the Texas Space Grant Consortium and the University of Texas at Austin. I have proficient programming experience in Python and I am comfortable working with Jupyter Notebook, Github, etc. I also have experience with various astronomical data analysis softwares, including DS9, QFits View, and more.
