I have always believed, that to be a good leader one needs to lead from the heart.It is not a job title what makes you a leader, but the respect and trust of those who accept you as one.Respect and trust are earned by taking time to understand the views and motivations of those you are leading and by creating a vision for common success. Respect and trust are earned by being the first one to believe and work for that common objective, by standing up every time you fall down, by accepting mistakes and correcting them, by giving that respect and trust back and by lending a helping hand every time that it is needed. Very early in my career I realized that the type of leadership I was sorrounded by was missing a lot of heart and took it upon myself to prove that the kind of leadership I believed in was possible and successful.Now, after having grown from being a system engineer, passing through positions as a project and bid manager, sales manager to more senior positions heading a division or CStO and COO in the HENSOLDT AG Management Board, I am more convinced than ever, that I was right: leading from the heart and never forgetting that every single person you lead is key to the achievement of your common vision is the most powerful force I know to achieve common success.
