Originally joined The CAFE Group as a contractor via The Larko Group in April 2025 and transitioned to full-time staff in October 2025.The Cleveland Avenue Foundation for Education (The CAFE Group) is a Chicago-based nonprofit that invests in Black and Brown leaders and organizations transforming education and access to opportunity.In this role, I provide comprehensive administrative and strategic support to CEO Liz Thompson, ensuring her time, communications, and relationships are aligned with organizational priorities and The CAFE Group’s love-centered mission. I manage the full scope of executive coordination, serving as a trusted partner in driving efficiency, clarity, and connection across internal teams and external stakeholders.Key contributions include- Manage complex scheduling across internal teams, external stakeholders, national funders, and high-profile partners- Oversee inbox management, draft high-priority communications, and maintain systems for follow-up and task tracking- Prepare detailed briefings, agendas, and materials for meetings, speaking engagements, and board participation- Coordinate logistics for internal and external events, high-level travel, and donor-facing meetings- Maintain centralized systems to track the CEO’s daily priorities, deliverables, and strategic commitments- Provide development administrative support, including Salesforce updates, donor tracking, and grant meeting preparation- Collaborate cross-functionally with the Senior Leadership Team to support board operations, stewardship communications, and organizational alignment.
