ABOUT CAMERON JUNGERS

Growing up in a small town there was not much to do other than play sports or get in trouble. Luckily for me, I was too busy with sports to have much time for the other. From a young age, football, basketball, and baseball were all I could think about. As I grew older and the competition got tougher, I learned the importance of putting in the work in order to see the results I wanted. This external motivation to be the best at sports lead to something much greater. It led to an internal drive to be the best version of myself that I could be.This critical value learned through sports has impacted my life in ways I couldn’t imagine. It has helped me to realize that through hard work, much can be accomplished. During my time as a church missionary, I spent two years serving those around me. During that time I had opportunities to step out of my comfort zone by learning a new language, engaging in public speaking, and serving as a leader in the mission giving trainings to help other missionaries succeed. It was difficult, but aren’t all rewarding things? The lesson of hard work has also carried over into my life as a student and employee. It has helped me recognize the importance of studying and has helped me to receive Dean\'s list honors at Arizona State University during my first two years. As an employee, I spent the majority of the year working as a volunteer at Phoenix Children’s Hospital and as a Youth Specialist at the Boys and Girls Club of South Phoenix. There I was able to develop effective communication skills with the children and other workers, problem-solving abilities, and overall better compassion and patience with all around me.As I have made a switch from a kinesiology major to a business management major, I have seen more similarities than one might think. In a world full of amazing technology, it is people who change the world. It is our grit, our sacrifice, and our passion that drives us to dream, plan, and create new and exciting things. We don’t have to be the luckiest, smartest, or most talented individuals to change the world. However, it is guaranteed that hard work will be required.Sports was the clear foundation for my drive to do well. However, it was just the start of a lifelong journey. As I continue to step out of my comfort zone and venture into the world of business, there will continually be more room for growth. Not only as an employee but as a person as well.
