Hello! My name is Cali VanderPlaats, and I\'m originally from Carmel, Indiana. I am a sophomore at Indiana University, where I am pursuing a degree in finance. My interest in finance began during a recent internship with Century 21, where I gained hands-on experience supporting top realtors with marketing initiatives, data management, and coordinating open houses. Through this role, I also developed a foundational understanding of real estate, including key factors in property evaluation. Currently, I am interested in getting into wealth management after shadowing and chatting with professionals at Charles Schwab this summer. After hearing about their love for their job and the way they get to help families and create personal connections, I found that this career may be a right fit for me.What excites me most about wealth management is the opportunity to build meaningful, long-term relationships with clients while helping them reach their financial goals. I am drawn to the balance of technical financial expertise and personal connection the field requires, as it allows me to use analytical and problem-solving skills while making a tangible difference in people’s lives. The idea of guiding families through important financial decisions, creating tailored strategies, and helping them feel confident about their future is something I find both rewarding and motivating.
