Throughout my tenure in employee benefits consulting, two things have always remained constant: change and relationships. These constants have been something I\'ve learned to both adapt to and thrive on, while building experience and a true appreciation for the profession of consulting on employee benefits for employers. Employee benefits are often the second most expensive line item for employers behind payroll and the first line item for frustration, yet these can be handled strategically if you have the right person in place to help. 1- Change can be a good thing if it is responded to proactively and efficiently. Between compliance, carrier restrictions, funding options, communication strategies and many more, the impetus of change is constantly swirling. I pride my work on staying a step ahead of industry changes and providing my clients a steady ship in a sea of what feels like chaos at times.2- Relationships are an important commodity in consulting. Pride in relationships and loyal partnerships are what keeps me invested in my position. From homegrown small businesses with a genuinely personal investment in a company, to larger organizations with teams that want to do right by employees, the relationship aspect of my job provides me access to a plethora of talented, smart and successful individuals. These relationships are the basis of why I do what I do.
