About Briana Cavazos
I am currently a second- year undergraduate student pursuing a BS in Chemical Engineering. I plan to obtain participate in Projects with Underserved Communities in the future to broaden my scope of engineering and use my knowledge in real world situations. I am highly experienced in public speaking and have extensive problem solving skills when it comes to working in high stress atmospheres. I have obtained extensive knowledge in presentation software such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and more. I am currently a part of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, Ramshorn Scholars Program, and Women in Stem Program at the University of Texas in Austin. As a first-generation woman in STEM originally from the Rio Grande Valley, I plan to work diligently towards obtaining the tools necessary to succeed within this coursework. I am highly interested in product design and the world of sustainability. My long term goals consist of obtaining knowledge and experience of working in the field of Chemical Engineering. While doing so, I hope to utilize my education at the Cockrell School of Engineering as well as gain a certificate in Humanitarian Engineering.
