ABOUT BRENT GEORGE AVERA VERSHIYI

I am a Bachelor of Science student at Hamilton College, double majoring in Data Science and Physics, with strong interests in mathematics, computer science, and research. My academic focus is shaped by a commitment to problem solving, ethical innovation, and using technology to address real-world challenges.Prior to college, I pursued a rigorous science-focused pathway and founded the STEM Club for Young Inventors, where I designed and led hands-on STEM and introductory coding activities for younger students, with a focus on early engagement and increasing participation in STEM. This experience strengthened my leadership, mentoring, and project-planning skills and continues to influence my collaborative approach to learning.I have developed independent technology projects, including a smart security system and a smart greenhouse focused on climate justice and environmental monitoring, applying systems thinking and data-driven reasoning to practical problems. My work has been recognised internationally. I am a RISE Global Winner, part of a global leadership program supported by the Rhodes Trust, and at 13 years old, I was recognised as the African Child of the Year (Science & Technology). At Hamilton College, I continue to build technical skills and pursue research-oriented opportunities while focusing on ethical, inclusive, and impactful technology.
