About Brandon Gleaton

I am dedicated to framing communities by their aspirations.I previously worked as Program Officer with Borealis Philanthropy directing resources to people building powerful, thriving communities that serve all of us, with those most impacted by injustice leading the way.I previously worked as the Executive Director of the Hazel Park Promise Zone, leading a 501(c)3 organization and Hazel Park Schools college access and success programming collaborating with cross-sector organizations working to increase access and opportunity for the metro-Detroit youth. I centered my graduate research on supporting college access and success of first-gen, veteran and African/Black American students by exploring what secondary and higher-ed systems can do to foster student success. Course work also unpacked best practices for government and nonprofit organizations, emphasizing development and implementation, leadership, personnel, strategic management, fundraising, and program evaluation best practices.Outside of work I\'ve committed my time to support organizations that are at the intersections of my identity and passion, all of which are devoted to building a more beloved community.

   Manage a multi-million-dollar investment portfolio in Southeast Michigan focused on K–12 schools and systems, postsecondary access and success, teacher pipeline development and retention, and community focused strategies.
