Built and lead the newsroom team that rapidly responds to breaking news and serves as a force multiplier on seismic developments across all coverage areas while also positioning myself as a go-to manager when news or organizational complications arise. • Lead with influence across the organization, identifying — and solving — challenges in many areas, including staffing, coverage, training and story production. • Coach general assignment reporters on juggling breaking news and dailies while also keeping momentum on deeper enterprise work on everything from vulnerabilities in election privacy and the and the state’s harmful foster care system and overcrowded jails and prisons. • Leverage communicative line editing and focused one-on-one meetings to continuously develop team members’ reporting and writing skills. • Harness several reporting approaches and writing techniques to deftly — and sensitively — cover some of the state’s most impactful news moments. That includes several mass power outages, natural disasters and school shootings. • Collaborate with team leaders across several departments to design organizational and communication processes that ensure employees from every corner of the organization are empowered to maximize their contributions.
