ABOUT WILLIAM FAIREY

Bill Fairey is a global biopharmaceutical executive with broad P&L, commercial and medical expertise. He excels at creating value around scientific discovery, particularly in the treatment of rare/orphan diseases. Frequently the first commercial executive in a scientific organization, Bill has significant experience building strong and scalable commercial entities that open global markets and launch novel therapeutics. He has driven the transformation of young biopharmaceutical companies from R&D to RD & C and was instrumental in MyoKardia’s and Actelion’s profitable exits. Earlier in his career, Bill had a series of high-impact executive roles at Actelion Pharmaceuticals, including President of the $1.5B US company. He doubled revenue behind a portfolio of product launches, including two blockbusters. He also launched a successful business unit to diversify beyond the company’s core in pulmonary hypertension, acquiring the late-stage company Ceptaris as the foundation for the new business. Before running the US company, Bill developed Actelion’s Asia-Pacific business, creating new opportunities in China, Taiwan, and Singapore, and serving on the Board of Directors of Actelion China.
