About Ben Meader
Experienced Information Security and Risk professional with a unique blend of technical acumen and business know-how. Led multiple teams with a focus on risk management, vendor risk assessment, and security consulting with multiple initiatives including Enterprise Security Maturity Assessment, Risk Assessment Redesign, Risk Management Reporting dashboard for risk visibility and revamping of policies and standards based off NIST 800-53. My background in network security engineering, risk management, and product ownership was built over the course of my career working for multiple multi-national firms in both the Des Moines and Chicago areas. I\'ve been fortunate to hold a number of roles with opportunities to lead organizational-wide initiatives along with some extremely talented teams. I enjoy collaborating, solving business problems, and translating information security risk into business-friendly terms.I\'ve also been a lifelong learner, always looking for opportunities to expand my knowledge in different areas. I\'ve had my CISSP since 2012 and have also obtained my MBA from DePaul University with concentrations in both Strategic Marketing and Entrepreneurship. I love networking with small business owners and have consulted in the past with a number of them. While at DePaul, I led a team of three to first place in in the University\'s 2009 annual business plan competition for CareerHook.com and find innovation and creativity to be a necessary staple of a work/life balance.
