Direct reporting line to the Fabric Development Assistant• Supported & managed the day to day running of the Design Department during 2 separate maternity leaves.• Represent the Design Team in weekly Operations Meeting• Managing & Presenting Design KPIs• Represent the Design Team in the daily production meetings• Liaise daily with internal & external colleagues to oversee Customer Requests and Collection samples• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and customers• Updating critical paths & sample trackers to track progress & ensure developments run smoothly and on time• To work with the Finance Team to cost all new fabrics to ensure prices are competitive• Ensure new fabrics are developed thoroughly & pass appropriate tests• Assessing test reports and proactively investigate ways to improve fabric performance• Completion of fabric specifications for all new fabrics to ensure continuity when the fabric is handed over to production• Able to analyse a range of fabrics to help develop new fabric bases & designs• Liaise with the Customer (London Fabric Team) to develop new fabric bases & colourways, as well as accurately interpreting briefs• Contribute to the development of new fabrics for the Burberry Mill Seasonal Collections based on market research and trends• Market research into existing products within Burberry & competitors• Using Scotweave software to develop Jacquard fabrics
