Project Director for AstraZeneca’s global transformation initiative to internalise Local Case Intake (LCI) activities within the Pharmacovigilance function. This large-scale programme transitions adverse event reporting from local affiliates and third-party vendors, building an internal capability of over 200 FTE across four global hubs: Mexico, India, Lisbon, and Japan.I lead the full project team and am responsible for ensuring progress across all key workstreams—including Change Management, Communications, Deployment, and Operational Oversight.I directly coordinate global recruitment efforts in partnership with Talent Acquisition, managing the activity of eight recruiters and aligning with market leads and internal stakeholders to meet hiring milestones. ABOUT BARBARA GIANQUITTO

Project Director at AstraZeneca, with over 16 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. My expertise lies in guiding complex global teams through large-scale transformation. I hold a degree in Communication, am a certified Project Manager, and a trained Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) Practitioner and Coach.Currently, I lead the Patient Safety Local Case Intake programme, building and scaling a 200-person global team across four hubs: Mexico, India, Lisbon, and Japan. In my nearly two-decade tenure at AstraZeneca, I’ve delivered strategic transformation across functions, geographies, and cultures, uniting vision with execution.I’m known for bringing structure to chaos and empathy to strategy. I hold the big picture while moving teams forward with clarity and momentum. And I also wear a \"second hat\" as I am also an author, poet, and speaker. My words have reached over readers, speaking to the hearts of women navigating motherhood, healing, self-worth, and the quiet courage it takes to begin again.I’ve published four poetry books and one for children, and have built an intimate, global readership.I also have the privilege of mentoring teen girls through the Girls Out Loud programme, with my participation personally sponsored by AstraZeneca.I believe deeply in the power of words, and in how shaping the next generation of powerful women can begin with a single “I see you,” offered at just the right moment. My work is rooted in empowerment, emotional truth, and the sacred art of becoming.Whether I’m leading global strategy or speaking on healing after heartbreak, my mission is the same:To lead with clarity. To communicate with purpose. To create lasting impact.
