ABOUT ASH DANDO
Consulting IT Architect My strengths are- highly relational & empathic- a broad and deep base of technical experience, from the circuit-board up to the most abstract cloud & architecture principles- able to see and respect everyone’s point of view- I love the challenge of explaining complex concepts to laypeople. I’m addicted to coming up with analogies & metaphors- I’m a big-picture person, and I’m more than comfortable diving into detail- I listen to customers & clients, understand their needs, and advocate for them so they can get what they need & want. I’ve held a wide range of positions ranging from network engineer to manager of network operations at a top-10 UK telco, as well as positions on the world’s biggest gigayachts, including Chief AV/IT Officer and helicopter safety pilot. Working face to face for CEOs, heads of state, several billionaires & the occasional celebrity has honed my ability to engage with a broad range of audiences, whether conveying technical ideas to a boardroom, photographing guests at a state function, or explaining to a superyacht owner why the rain has killed his satellite TV feed! Countries worked in: NZ (born), UK (10y), Germany (1y), Spain (4y), USA (1y), at sea (7y). EU/EASA PPL(H) pilot license, type-rated for AS-350, EC-130, and R-22 helicopters. A keen musician, I play guitar and produce music. I\'m also into photography, self-development, coding in Python and inventing widgets with the Arduino, ESP and Raspberry Pi.
