ABOUT ARIANNE GARCIA
I’ve always been drawn to organizing things—people, movements, moments of opportunity. Whether I’m managing a crisis or creating a long-term plan for civic engagement, I thrive in the intersection of strategy and service. For nearly two decades, I’ve worked at the nexus of advocacy, politics, and community impact—elevating the voices of those often unheard. From leading field teams in some of Los Angeles\' most complex districts to crafting signature programs for underdog campaigns that went on to win, I’ve built a career around bringing people together and making systems work better for them. Recently, I took my skill set into unfamiliar territory: professional sports. As Director of Community Organizing for the Los Angeles Chargers, I applied my grassroots mindset to one of the most competitive sports markets in the country—strategically building bridges between the franchise and the broader business and civic community. It was a rewarding challenge, but I find myself called back to work rooted in purpose and community transformation. I’m most alive when building things that didn’t exist before: a coalition, a solution, a strategy that brings dignity to someone’s lived experience. As Executive Director of Habits of Waste, I now lead a nimble team focused on shifting everyday behavior to make sustainability accessible and equitable. It’s a role that allows me to blend creativity, leadership, and deep organizing experience to move the needle on systemic change. Outside of work, I’m an avid hot yoga devotee, a proud dog mom to Diego (who eats better than I do), a Dodgers fan through and through, and someone who loves the joy of a good meal, whether I\'m cooking it or discovering it. I’m always open to connecting with others who believe in the power of community, storytelling, and bold action. Let’s build something that matters.
