About April Moe

I want a seat at the table where decisions about the trades get made! I’m driven to be a clear voice for the trades and help design better ways to develop and support the people who keep everything in our country running.I’ve been lucky enough to have had a front-row view of what’s happening in the field: technology is racing ahead while the people doing the work are expected to “just keep up,” often without the time, training, or support they need.I grew up in Spokane watching my dad serve as a court commissioner, closely connected to the juvenile court system. I saw him fight for a system he knew could do better at a state level and I saw how often it failed people who were doing their best. My father’s compassion for Spokane shaped how I see this community and my responsibility in it.In the trades and industrial world, I’ve seen the other side of that story: when someone gets real skills, a solid job, and ongoing support, their whole life can change. That’s why I’ve rooted my work in welding, trades education, and field support.I feel most at home out in the field on job sites, in shops and yards, at plants and warehouses around the people who are the foundation of our community.I listen first, ask questions, and then become a support bridge for workers and decision makers; so products, trainings, and programs fit the way people actually work. My goal is simple: more people thriving in blue collar careers and more employers in the Inland Northwest staffed with skilled people who plan to stay.
