ABOUT APARAJITA SUMAN

With over 25 years of experience, I have led and implemented Knowledge Management (KM), evaluative learning, and communication initiatives across diverse, multi-sectoral programs. I’ve had the privilege of supporting flagship initiatives of the Government of India—spanning the Ministries of Rural Development, Jal Shakti, Health and Family Welfare, Women & Child Development, and Home Affairs—in areas such as rural livelihoods, agriculture, public health and nutrition, WASH, and disaster resilient infrastructure. My collaborations with leading organizations like UNAIDS, UNODC, UNICEF, the World Bank, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and various international NGOs have allowed me to contribute meaningfully to KM, evaluative learning, behavior change communication, community engagement and capacity strengthening efforts.I am deeply passionate about knowledge sharing and continuous learning. I hold a Ph.D. in Semantics of Knowledge Management and have earned Master’s degrees in four distinct fields—Mass Communication, Information Management, Library & Information Science, and Zoology. In addition, I hold postgraduate qualifications in Intellectual Property Rights and Journalism. Over the years, I’ve presented papers and facilitated training programs on Knowledge Management, Behavior Change Communication (BCC), Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), and community mobilization at numerous conferences and professional forums.Key Areas of Expertise-Knowledge Management and Learning Facilitation: Designing and leading KM and learning initiatives to enhance the impact of development programs, including strategy development, results frameworks, theories of change, and tools for collaboration, learning, and adaptation-Programme Management and Monitoring: Strong background in programme planning, budgeting, and developing Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) strategies-Programme Implementation and Technical Support: Hands-on experience in implementing programs and providing technical assistance and capacity building across multiple sectors-Knowledge Products and Systems Design: Skilled in conceptualizing and overseeing the development of tools and products to promote effective knowledge sharing-Digital and Analytical Proficiency: Well-versed in modern KM systems, MEL methodologies, digital communication strategies, and social media engagement-Leadership and Team Building: Proven ability to convene, manage, and inspire multi-disciplinary and cross-cultural teams, with a strong emphasis on collaboration and cultural sensitivity.
