ABOUT ANYA ZOHRAB

As a Ministerial Advisor at the New Zealand Parliament, I provide strategic advice on public policy issues. I have almost 8 years of experience in the financial services industry, where I worked with institutional and corporate clients on public sector generated transactions. I also worked to influence Ministers, MPs and officials on significant financial sector regulatory change, whilst also implementing regulatory change across the business. Prior to this I had about 10 years in the transport public sector, with several years as portfolio adviser to three Ministers of Transport. I have completed the Institute of Directors 5 day Corporate Governance Course and have board and incorporated society experience. I also have a strong academic background in accountancy, public policy, and commercial law. I am experienced in people and project leadership, financial management, political management, risk management, negotiation, business development, and delivery. I am passionate about creating positive outcomes for the public and the economy, and I enjoy working in a dynamic and challenging environment with deadlines and pace. I am also a proud mother of three fairly young children - which is also dynamic and challengiing!
