ABOUT ANTHONY KASSEKERT

Guests frequently mock the bookshelves full of statistical texts when they visit my place. My professional background is predictive statistics, particularly Bayesian estimation of multilevel data, time series, and limited dependent variables. I have taught myself text analytics and several machine learning processes for work and also to expand my personal research on sustainable energy policy choices. My research areas include energy policy, economic development, immigration, and fraud prevention. Outside of working as a statistician and being an adjunct professor, I enjoy volunteering with several nonprofits. I spend the majority of my volunteer time supporting the Boy Scouts of America where I have served as the Program Chief of Staff for the last two National Jamborees in addition to many local positions. I also volunteer with the Boys and Girls Club, the local food pantry, and help tutor middle school students in mathematics in my neighborhood. In both my professional and volunteering work the team dynamic is critical to my interest in participating and often our ultimate success. I thoroughly enjoy working with brilliant people who believe in the mission and are focused on producing a quality outcome. I prefer coworkers who challenge me to excel and feel the same about working with me. I had the privilege of recruiting a diverse set of dedicated colleagues to work with me at CPSC, DHS, FSU, and the National Jamboree and look forward to continuing this trend in my next project.
