The RESULTS Fellowship is a 11-month fellowship program in which participants develop leadership skills as they gain hands-on experience working with RESULTS grassroots groups or as a free agent in their communities. These emerging leaders spend 11 months growing their advocacy skills to end poverty and oppression. Fellows meet with lawmakers, work with the media, and engage with their communities to affect change.RESULTS launched in 1980 when founder Sam Daley-Harris and a circle of concerned citizens decided the U.S. government must do more to end poverty. They organized to convince Congress to act on the global malnutrition crisis. Today, our network of volunteers and staff spans all 50 states. With expertise in policy and organizing, RESULTS staff support volunteers to become powerful advocates.Together, we push for policies that dismantle poverty and inequity in the U.S. and globally. We know that poverty cannot end while oppression exists. RESULTS values are rooted in anti-oppression.Our more than 800 grassroots volunteers dedicate their lives to ending poverty. Working in over 100 communities across the U.S, our grassroots volunteers influence public policy by taking monthly advocacy actions, educating their communities about poverty, and urging their elected officials to make poverty a national and international policy priority. About half of our grassroots groups work on our U.S. poverty campaigns and half work on our global poverty campaigns.
