ABOUT ANDRIA FARRENS
I am a new Research Manager at CHOC. My research focuses on developing new tools to quantify the effects of deep brain stimulation on sensorimotor function in children with acquired dystonia, using a combination of fMRI, EEG, robotics, EMG, IMU and motion capture technology. Previous Experience:Tenure track Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation. My research focused on the development and application of novel approaches to study the neural underpinnings of neuromotor control, using a combination of fMRI, EEG, robotics and motion capture technology. As a postdoctoral researcher at UCI, I led a randomized controlled trial of gamified robotic hand therapy for post-stroke individuals, and tested the feasibility of proprioceptive training of the fingers. In my thesis work at UD I studied motor control and motor learning, focused primarily on adaptation and use-dependent learning mechanisms, of the wrist and in locomotion. I have experience working both with healthy and differently abled populations (stroke, Parkinson\'s, ASD).
