ABOUT AMANDA WHARTON
Highly experienced Sustainability and ESG leader managing complex transformational strategy and delivery requirements, including stakeholder engagement. I am a Sustainability generalist with specialisms in Sustainable Infrastructure and Strategic Sustainability and ESG (developing and implementing policy and strategy). I have 24 years experience in Environment and Sustainability, working in various leadership roles in consultancy and industry, and on major projects and programmes such as the Restoration and Renewal of the Palace of Westminster, HS2 and East West Rail. My industry sector experience includes: Rail, Defence, Nuclear, Housing, Project Management and Construction - Built Environment and Infrastructure. Most recently I\'ve worked as a Technical Director in the Carbon & ESG team at AECOM where I was responsible for Sustainable Infrastructure and Sustainability Strategy. Previously worked as Head of Sustainability Defence & Justice at Lend Lease (now Bovis) for 3.5 years and as Senior Environment & Sustainability Manager and Environmental Manager directly supporting option studies, design and construction for the built environment and infrastructure projects. I have also worked in the rail industry working as an environment consultant and for Siemens as an SQE Engineer. I\'ve held strong client facing and stakeholder engagement roles including working for 12 years for Defence clients. Extensive experience of managing, leading and mentoring high performing teams.Experience has also included implementing change initiatives including for Behaviour Change, Social Value, Energy Management and Water, Waste, Circular Economy and Carbon Reduction/Net Zero.
