ABOUT ALLY BUSH
I grew up listening to the sound of my mother\'s fingers hitting her computer keyboard during all hours of the day. Sometimes, she would take me along on her photo shoots and interviews, and I got to see a world that other kids my age didn\'t. My mom has been a writer for our local newspaper for as long as I can remember. But she\'s not only a writer, she\'s also a communicator. She knows everyone in our town and has probably interviewed every single one of them. That\'s the main reason I don\'t go to the grocery store with her anymore. What used to be a 15 minute errand has since turned into a minimum 2 hour excursion because she, being the polite Southern woman she is, indulges everyone who stops her in the aisle to run a story idea by her. I like to think I get my passion for writing from my mom. As if somehow it\'s a genetic trait. Ever since I started writing stories and poems as a kid I\'ve known that this is what I want to do for the rest of my life. I love telling other peoples\' stories, creating my own, and bringing life to words in the most creative way possible. As of May 4, 2019, I am a graduate of Queens University of Charlotte with Bachelors degrees in creative writing and communications. My work has been published in 3 local magazines (Carolina Bride, SouthPark, and Lake Norman), one London-based magazine, one digital literary magazine, and my campus literary magazine.
