ABOUT ALISSON MORAES
Hello, I'm Alisson! I'm a Partnerships and Sustainability Specialist. I completed my B.Sc. in Public Policy Management with first class honours (20••••22) at the University of São Paulo and I'm currently pursuing a M.Sc. in Sustainability (2023 - present) at the University of São Paulo (USP). I have gained professional experience working in three countries (Brazil, Germany, and the Netherlands) and have been involved in projects with Portuguese-speaking nations, particularly Small Island Developing States (SIDS) such as Cape Verde and São Tomé and Príncipe. Currently, I'm working at Goethe University Frankfurt (2024 - present) as a Visiting Researcher and German Chancellor Fellow 24/25 funded by the Alexander Humboldt Foundation. Before this experience, I was a Visiting Researcher at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands (2024) focusing on Environmental Diplomacy and Public Policy. My academic path at USP is marked by recognition and awards, including the publication of scientific articles, book chapters, and participation in highly relevant events. In 2023, the book Environmental Diplomacy, in which I wrote a chapter, was a finalist for the Jabuti Prize and received an Honorable Mention for its presentation. My professional activities have always been in the third sector, working with organizations that have relationships with the public and private sectors. I describe myself as a bridge builder, as my entire professional journey has involved fostering collaboration among diverse stakeholders with high-impact agendas. From politicians of different ideologies to entrepreneurs with businesses of various sizes, stakeholder coordination is the skill I've most developed in my professional journey. I have experience with RAPS - Political Action Networking for Sustainability, an organization focused on enhancing political and civic leadership, and I worked at Endeavor Brasil with mentors (executives) in decision-making positions (founder/entrepreneur/C-Level/director/board member/head of department). I'm also part of two Think Tanks, the Environmental Diplomacy Group at USP/IRICE and the Lusophone Hub of the Ocean Decade, in this groups I collaborate with academics, diplomats, ministers, and ambassadors on projects aimed at international cooperation and the improvement of socio-environmental public policies.
