ABOUT ALEX PAALBORG

I work on privacy and information security matters at Comcast, where I help the business operationalize US and international privacy and security requirements in a practical and risk-based way. I advise on product/service development and commercial transactions involving residential and syndicated services, with a particular focus on IOT and connected devices, gaming, home security, WiFi, artificial intelligence (AI), multi-dwelling units (MDUs), video/OTT, and strategic development initiatives. My work also includes negotiating vendor agreements, reviewing privacy impact assessments (PIAs), drafting internal and external-facing policies and notices, conducting M&A due diligence, and helping with post-transaction integration issues. Prior to joining Comcast, I was an associate at Davis Graham & Stubbs LLP in Denver, CO, where I worked in the firm\'s Technology and Intellectual Property Law Group and advised clients on privacy, technology, intellectual property, commercial transactions, and corporate law matters. At DGS, I helped clients develop privacy programs and I negotiated a variety of agreements involving the development, transfer, and licensing of data and technology, including cloud services, licensing, development, and other IP agreements. Before DGS, I worked at Wittliff Cutter, PLLC, a boutique full-service technology law firm in Austin, Texas, where I advised tech entrepreneurs and start-ups on data privacy compliance and tech/IP transactions. I began my career in the public sector, working on legislative, policy, and enforcement issues involving technology and consumer protection. During law school, I externed for the Honorable Ignazio Ruvolo of the California Court of Appeals, First Appellate District and the Honorable Laura Taylor, Chief Judge of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Southern District of California.
