About Alex George
I am a management consultant in the life sciences and an experienced engineer in biopharmaceutical operations and manufacturing. I currently work with SciVida to deliver projects across market access, brand & portfolio, medical affairs, and business development in the life sciences industry.Previously, I managed a team of 7 to develop and improve operations across 3 manufacturing facilities in Biogen’s $1.8B rare disease portfolio and led the upstream process transfer and GMP qualification and commercialization activities of oligonucleotide therapies at Biogen. Prior to my role at Biogen, I held an operations manager role at Merck, where I managed a team of five operators on a 24/7 rotating shift schedule to manufacture Gardasil, Merck\'s HPV vaccine. As a first-line supervisor, I often made quick decisions with limited information in order to keep the production line running. The role involved extensive management of change with my team and a servant leader mentality. Prior to becoming a people manager, I was the sterile filtration system lead for a capital project manufacturing a bulk sterile drug substance where I wrote the facility\'s sterile filtration validation package, lead shifts, and project managed capital work.Core Competencies-Technical knowledge of large and small molecule pharmaceutical manufacturing and operations-Good Manufacturing Practice-Servant leadership-Management of change-Statistical process control-Strategic thinking
