ABOUT ALEX HOFFMAN
Alex Hoffman, AICP, CNU-A manages Urban Planning & Design for the City of El Paso, Texas, the 22nd largest city in the US. In this role, he has worked to implement various aspects of the City’s Comprehensive Plan, Strategic Plan and various planning studies to develop and maintain the City’s Capital Plan. Fascinated by the intersection of big data, policy and design, Alex integrates his expertise in these areas to help the City make evidence-based decisions. Prior to this role, Alex managed the Planning Division of the Planning & Inspections Department, as well as Lead Planner for the Long Range section and Zoning Administrator in previous positions held with the City of El Paso. Additionally, he has held various planning positions for both the City of York, Pennsylvania and Columbus, Ohio. Alex is a graduate of the Ohio State University’s Knowlton School of Architecture as well as the University of Cincinnati’s School of Planning.
